Melody Lacey is the co-owner and 'behind the scenes' operator of Lacey Custom Carpentry located in Roswell, GA. Melody and Ira started Lacey Custom Carpentry when they moved to GA in June of 2006 and have been remodeling homes throughout the greater Atlanta metro area ever since. Prior to their move south Ira & Melody co-owned and operated Lacey Contracting in New Haven, CT for over 4 years.
Melody has over 10 years of corporate Program and Project Management experience with several different companies within various industries, including Aviation, Manufacturing, Government/Military, Online Marketing, Information Technology, and of course Residential Construction. For the past 8 years Melody has balanced her time with her corporate jobs with running the business so that Ira can focus on his customers, managing his subcontractors, and performing all of the carpentry tasks for each job. Together Melody and Ira form a complete team with all of the key skills necessary to be successful in this competitive market.
Occasionally Melody also gets to dabble in design work, which feeds her need to be creative and to get her hands dirty on the job. Her most notable design contribution was the Parkdale property shown on the Before & After page within the Portfolio. Melody and Ira purchased this property, redesigned, and rebuilt it, and then sold it for a profit - even in a poor housing market. The attention to detail on schedule, cost, and quality made this project a huge success for the Lacey team. As you can see from the interior photos the entire house was redesigned and extensive changes were made to the layout - since the home was not livable and was completely rebuilt. Melody (with some input from Ira) was the sole designer for the property, which included, changing the floor plan, selecting all of the materials, colors, fixtures, tile, appliances, etc... She also did some hard labor with the backyard landscaping - it's a great work out! As a team this is their most notable accomplishment to date and it was a great experience. Enjoy the pictures!
